AVR is the abbreviation for "Automatic Voltage Regulation" (AVR). This means that the alternator has a pc-board mounted on it which will regulate the VOLTAGE should the engine speed varies for whatever reason. The AVR will keep the voltage the same down to 48Hz.
Alternators without this feature will experience a drop in voltage when engine speed drops. The sinus graph for this alternator is very smooth which makes this very suitable for sensitive equipment, such as personal computers and sensitive electric motors amongs others.
AVR is available for single and three phase alternators and for 2 and 4 pole units.
